Research Projects

Central to the project was the participation of members of groups from the local community in carrying out research and preparing profiles on many of the parishioners who rest or are remembered in the Auld Kirkyard. The groups used their research in the design of kirkyard trail leaflets for use by future visitors.

Time Team

• Members of New Cumnock Parish Church carried out research into Ministers.

• Members of New Cumnock History Society carried out research into Soldiers.

• Pupils from New Cumnock Primary School carried out research into 10 pres-selected parishioners whose story help to tell the story of New Cumnock.

• In addition to kirkyard trail leaflets funding was also secured to design an interactive application of the pupils research to be used in the school through an Ipad and  isavailable to the public on Future Museum web-site.
