August 22 | Friday

Next mornin’ we had a shoppin’ spree,
Invaded ‘Arts and Crafts’ wi’ glee
Then by Ballinluig tae Amulree
An’ doon the Sma’ Glen,
Whaur the mist closed in an’ we didnae see
Much scenery then.

‘Twas clear at Crieff, nae stop we made,
But hurried on tae Lochearnhead,
By Comrie an’ St. Fillans. We fed
Beside the ‘lake’.
An’ later a monstrous lorry held
Us up for a space.

Balquhidder Station (brief pause here!)
Along Loch Lubnaig, weather clear.
The Falls o’ Leny – Nae Parkin’ Here!
Wis a’ we could see,
Sae into Callander see us career
Tae hunt B. an’ B.

That dune we looked aroon’ the toon
Then had oor tea an’ went aff fur a run.
At Loch Katrine we had a stroll aroon’
Then took the Duke’s Road
Tae Aberfoyle – some gradient doon –
Whence ‘hame’ we rode.
