In August 1958 Betty set off on a Highland Holiday with fellow teachers Phae Lees (her aunt), Betty Turner and Jessie Young. Betty kept an amazing day by day journal full of facts such as miles travelled, gallons of petrol consumed, breakfast and evening meal menus and notes on the places visited. On her return she relived the adventure and penned a remarkable poem as an everlasting memento of an unforgettable holiday.
